Spirituality is beyond all religions, science or philosophy yet contains them all. It is a person’s search for transcendent meaning, a yearning for connectedness to the universe.

Spirituality is about the relationship between ourselves and something larger.

Who Am I?

For some, this question is pursued with a particular fierceness and determination. Most consider the question at some point in their life in one way or another. The founders of various religions understood and revealed the true nature of reality , and our major religions were founded on those truths have helped answer some of humanity’s deeper questions over time. The translated version of those truths were formulated into various holy books that many have relied on for their spiritual sustenance now.

See:   Religion.

Yet others have felt compelled to explore and discover their own direct experience of the true nature of reality. This direct experience and discovery many have termed Awakening or Enlightenment.

*

We are fortunate to now have a growing number of teachers and way showers who are able to guide, ease and perhaps shorten our journey. They are inviting and assisting us in inspiring our highest human potential. This shift in awareness, this expansion of our collective level of consciousness is so urgently needed on the planet at this time.

Can Science Explain Who We Are?

Can Science Explain Who We Are?

From the beginning of time, humans have tried to understand the nature of the universe and their relationship to it. Through both religion and science, we have sought answers to those questions.  Some in science are attempting to bridge scientific understanding with what religion has spoken of, but not had “proof” of.

Questioning the Universe

Stephen Hawking, Theoretical Physicist, Cosmologist, Author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge, asks some big questions about our universe — How did the universe begin? How did life begin? Are we alone? — and discusses how we might go about answering them. He also issues a warning and suggestion.

Science and Nonduality Conference: “Science and Nonduality provides a forum where preeminent scientists, philosophers, teachers, artists and a large, international community gather to explore and advance the new paradigm emerging in spirituality, that is both grounded in cutting-edge science and consistent with the ancient wisdom of nonduality — the deep understanding of the interconnectedness of life.”

Sacred Activism

Sacred Activism

“A spirituality that is only private and self-absorbed, one devoid of an authentic political and social consciousness, does little to halt the suicidal juggernaut of history. On the other hand, an activism that is not purified by profound spiritual and psychological self-awareness and rooted in divine truth, wisdom, and compassion will only perpetuate the problem it is trying to solve, however righteous its intentions. When, however, the deepest and most grounded spiritual vision is married to a practical and pragmatic drive to transform all existing political, economic, and social institutions, a holy force – the power of wisdom and love in action – is born. This force I define as Sacred Activism.”
